Myasthenia Gravis
The Myasthenia Gravis sample collection consists of DNA and serum and plasma samples from participants being recruited from Salford Royal and the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. Subjects meet the clinical diagnostic criteria for Myasthenia Gravis and are anti-acetylcholinesterase receptor (AChR) antibody positive. Current participants were between 2 and 87 years of age at disease onset. Ethnicity is not restricted. Family samples are not collected intentionally; however the collection includes three pairs of affected brothers.
Samples are collected under the leadership of Dr Janine Lamb (University of Manchester), Consultants Dr Jon Sussman and Dave McKee (Salford Royal Foundation Trust) and Professor Nick Willcox (Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine/John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford).
