The hypertension sample collection consists of DNA samples from Caucasian participants between 40 and 78 years of age being treated for hypertension by their GP and living in England and Scotland.

Samples were collected under the leadership of Professor Mark Caulfield (Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London) for the British Genetics of Hypertension (BRIGHT) study. Samples from both affected sibling pairs and family based association trios were collected in addition to control samples.

Collection commenced: 1996 (completed 2005)
