Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathy

The myositis sample collection consists of DNA and plasma samples from participants being recruited both UK and EU wide meeting the Bohan and Peter criteria for adult and juvenile dermatomyositis and polymyositis, and the Griggs diagnostic criteria for inclusion body myositis. Participants are between 2 and 88 years of age. Ethnicity is not restricted. Systematic family samples are not being intentionally collected, although the collection includes 4 UK families with 2 affected members.

Samples are collected under the leadership of Professor Robert Cooper (Salford Royal), and Professor Bill Ollier (University of Manchester).
