Hip Dysplasia
Between 1988 and 1990 information on risk factors, potential confounding factors or effect modifiers and clinical data were collected from newborn infants born in Bergen, in addition to state of the art ultrasound images of the hip joint at birth, and longitudinal clinical data. The hip dysplasia sample collection consists of DNA samples from participants of the Bergen Birth Cohort Study who were then assessed clinically and radiologically during 2007 – 2009 at 18/19 years. Ethnicity of participants was not restricted during collection, however >99.5% participants are white Norwegians.
Samples were collected under the leadership of Professor Karen Rosendahl (Haukeland University Hospital) for the Bergen Longitudinal Hip Cohort Study.
Collection commenced: 2007 – present (ongoing)
