A major focus of senior investigators within Genomics is in the allied areas of autoimmunity, inflammation and allergy. This originated from a long-standing interest in the association of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) gene polymorphisms with autoimmunity and unravelling the genetic basis of inflammatory rheumatic disease and other conditions such as asthma and eczema.
