Question 5. Can I give the UK WHOQOL to English-speaking minority groups in Britain?

Language versions need to be culturally adapted and retranslated for use by minority groups living in Britain. This is because culture, language and history affect the way we think about, and express our quality of life, and these issues are incorporated into new versions of the WHOQOL when they are developed for different language groups.

Permission to use the official translation of a language version or to adapt any existing language version for use with diaspora in another country must be obtained from the WHOQOL Principal Investigator in the Centre where the language version was first developed.
