Pulmonary imaging

Working in collaboration with researchers at the North West Lung Centre based at the University Hospital of South Manchester, this research area involves the development and application of imaging methods to measure regional lung morphology and function in health and in diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma.

Summary of current active research

Dr Josephine Naish

  • Development and modelling of oxygen-enhanced imaging to measure regional ventilation and perfusion
  • Contrast enhanced methods to map perfusion and capillary permeability
  • Measurement of regional lung compliance
