functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) studies of human memory

fMRI is a non-invasive technique which can be used to obtain information regarding the role of brain networks during computer-based cognitive tasks. In HuMAn Lab our aim is to explore which brain regions are involved in specific aspects of memory function.

Project aims

We are interested in exploring which brain regions are involved in specific aspects of memory function. This study will use functional magnetic resonance imaging (a non-invasive technique) to explore which areas of the brain are used to encode and retrieve different types of information.

Project requirements

In order to participate you need to be between the ages of 18 and 32 and:

 

  • Native or fluent English speaker
  • Have no history of neurological or psychiatric illness
  • Have no history of metal implant or metal fragments entering the body during an accident or at work
  • Not pregnant
  • Have good eyesight (contact lens correction is acceptable; glasses cannot be worn
  • Not a sufferer of claustrophobia
  • Right-handed
