Clinical psychology

Clinical Psychology at Manchester has an international reputation for the development and evaluation of psychological treatments. Developments based on the clinical and academic skills and activities of members of the academic staff have resulted in a number of significant developments.

Specifically, the group are world leaders in the development and evaluation of psychological and psycho-social interventions in the treatment of psychosis, and other mental health problems. Much of this work has also been based on the further understanding of the psychological and psycho-social processes underlying these disorders.

The group is well known for developing new treatments. Developments originating from the clinical research taking place in Manchester have had a significant impact on health service policy and service provision.
