Endometrial cancer and obesity

Dr Emma Crosbie’s research explores the link between obesity and endometrial cancer in order to develop new therapeutic and prevention strategies. Two major strands evaluate the role of weight loss and obesity on the endometrium through collaboration with bariatric surgical services and the clinical effects of intrauterine progestagens and metformin on the pre-cancerous endometrium and established low grade carcinoma.

Professor Andrew Renehan leads a programme of epidemiological and laboratory research that will increase our understanding of the interactions between diabetes, obesity and cancer risk with a particular focus on women’s cancer.
