The structure and function of the arterial circulation determines susceptibility to disease such as hypertension and diabetes which affect 35% of the UK population and increase the risk of circulatory problems such as stroke and heart disease. The causes of these diseases and their consequences must lie in the vasculature and a key aim of the Group is to investigate the mechanisms responsible.
