Professor Richard Warren, Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Dermatologist
Professor Richard Warren graduated from Liverpool University with a first class honours degree in Pharmacology and gained his Medical degree, with honours, one year later.
He is a consultant in the world renowned psoriasis clinic and in 2010 established a new combined clinic with Dr Hector Chinoy, a Consultant Rheumatologist at SRFT, for patients with severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
He has received national and international awards for his research into psoriasis, which has focussed on; pharmacogenetics, the genetic susceptibility to psoriasis, and more recently biological therapies and their use in the treatment of psoriasis. He is widely published in the field of Dermatology with numerous abstracts, papers and book contributions and is current EU Editor in Chief for the journal Dermatology and Therapy.
Professor Warren sits on a number of national committees, including the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence guideline group for psoriasis.
Richard is a keen teacher and currently supervises 3 students doing higher degrees and gives regular lectures and clinical teaching sessions to medical students.
