NIHR Research Methods Internship in Health Economics

Hours per week: up to 35 hours per week

Contract Duration: Maximum of 8 weeks

 

 

The Manchester Centre for Health Economics at The University of Manchester invites applications for one summer internship to be taken up between July and September 2020. The internship is designed to allow practical experience working as an academic health economist. The intern will, under supervision, undertake a research project with a focus on the economic impact of precision medicine. The project will provide the basis for insight into the research process and allow the intern to further develop the skills acquired during their undergraduate studies. The intern will be based in the Manchester Centre for Health Economics and supervised by Rob Hainsworth, NIHR Research Methods Fellow, supported by Dr Sean Gavan, Research Fellow in Health Economics, Professor Katherine Payne, Professor of Health Economics and Professor Ian Bruce, Professor of Rheumatology. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, the ability to work well in a team and a keen interest in applied microeconomics and its application to health and health care.
