Infectious disease epidemiology

The research groups are undertaking a number of studies in this area, the focus of which is on health protection in the following areas:

• IID2: (Second study of infectious intestinal diseases)
  This a collaborative project funded by the Food Standards Agency. It is a national three-year study looking at the burden of infectious intestinal disease in the community
• Blood borne virus
  Investigating the prevention and spread of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C viruses
• Infection control, vaccination and immunisation
  Projects investigating infection control and immunisation, and the human papilloma virus
